FAQs

  • Tuition for weekly 30-minute private sessions is $145 per month. New students pay at one-time $30 registration fee and students using Diamond Piano are charged an annual materials fee each October. This fee is prorated for students enrolling mid-year. Non-piano students and those who have graduated from Diamond Piano do not pay the materials fee.

  • We offer a discounted off-peak rate of $130 for lessons scheduled before 3pm, Monday through Friday.

  • While all our teachers teach piano, some of our instructors have other instruments they teach including guitar, voice, violin, and bass.

  • We have students of all ages with the youngest being four and the oldest in their 90s! For very young students, the free trial will be an assessment of the child’s readiness for lessons. Each child is different, so it’s difficult to say when they’ll be ready, but 6-7 is typically a good age for most beginners.

  • Many of our instructors have experience working with students with special needs. We’d be happy to set up a trial lesson to see if we can accommodate your specific needs.

  • We offer a minimum of two recital opportunities each year in addition to events specifically for songwriters. Our recitals are held at Ruggero Piano, where students perform on a stage with a beautiful grand piano. Although we encourage students to participate when they feel ready, we do not require students to participate.

Each May we host the Maddie Karl Celebration of Songwriting, a showcase of original music in honor of a former student and composer who passed away suddenly. Each August we host the Little Red Benefit Concert to raise money for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.

  • At this time we do not offer group classes or camps; however, duet lessons can be accommodated. These are great for siblings or friends who are close in age and at the same level, or an adult and child who want a fun experience learning together.

  • Yes! We have a very successful after-school program at many of the Thales Academy locations in and around Raleigh. If you are interested in offering a piano program for your homeschool co-op, school, church group, etc., please reach out to Gerry Diamond at gerry@diamondpiano.com.
