Brief History of our “Little Red” Concerts
In 2009, Family Piano Academy (FPA) held a concert of original music to support The Little Red Foundation, a local charity organized to help a family whose young child, nicknamed “Little Red” because of her beautiful red hair, was battling leukemia. Little Red lost her fight, but FPA remains inspired by her bravery and the loving response of her community, and we are committed to hosting an annual concert in her name to support our local community.
Why we choose to support the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle
FPA believes that feeding the hungry is one of the most important obligations we all have. There are about 130,000 people in Wake County who don’t have enough to eat. The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is committed to serving those people and it has been able to keep operating costs at ~5%, so we know that ~95% of everything we raise for them is truly helping to feed our hungry brothers and sisters.

Explore Our Curriculum
Family Piano Academy is home to the Diamond Piano Method. Written by founder, Gerry Diamond, this curriculum is the staple of our beginner-intermediate studies. This theory-focused method prepares students to create their own music and is supplemented by a variety of online, at-home tools. Learn more about Diamond Piano here.

While piano is our primary focus, many of the talented musicians on our staff are able to offer quality guitar, bass, voice, and violin lessons. Our staff also come from a wide variety of backgrounds, so no matter your learning goals, we have teachers on our staff suited to help you. You can read more about our teachers here.
